Obsession defcon 6 vs12/7/2023 We are a dealer for both Xpedition Archery and Obsession Bows. I help my cousin Chad at Fever River Archery in southwest WI. We welcome any apples to apples comparison and hope that you see the care and precision we use in every aspect of our bows. Our limbs are made by Gordon Glass.who sets the standard and is used by many other manufacturers.Īs with any product, shoot them all and see for yourself. Grips, Camo/color, and strings are outsourced to reputable manufacturers who have proven quality, consistent delivery and solid business reputations (not saying others don't, but ask our suppliers how particular we are). Every Xpedition bow is assembled to order, not pre-built and placed in a box where it waits for an order. Every person that touches an Xpedition bow can build one from square one and that build is inspected by another employee. Our inspection process is identical to our aerospace counterpart, as it is necessary to maintain our ASO/ISO certification (all processes in the same facility must comply). That gives Xpedition access to machinery, engineering, and experience in a precision manufacturing market that is simply not capable with an archery only entity. Xpedition is owned by an Aerospace manufacturing company. We use Hybrid and Single cams systems, OA is a binary.Īs far as quality, fit and finish, that can be subjective. We do share the same designer, so some aesthetic similarities will exist. Good luck in your decision you can't go wrong. One thing Xpedition has that many others don't is a new single cam Xception.I hear its the smoothest thing going with decent speed.I just haven't shot it yet. I shoot the Xcentrics better than any other bow I've owned including several Bowtechs and Hoyts. I like that you can get an Obsession in Predator camos and would like to have a K34 in Predator Fall Grey, but it would be so close to my X7 I just can't justify it. Now though Obsessions make the Kevin Strother K32 and K34 which have grips more like the Xpeditions so it really comes down to personal preference in camo and grip to me. There grip is more rounded and narrower than Xpeditions.I do not like it very much. The Obsessions have binary cam system that will be a touch smoother but they won't hit their speeds all the time and as arrow weight increases you will lose more speed. The Xpeditions have a wider squared grip which I prefer but others may not Xpedition has hybrid cam system with a yoke.you will get more speed out of the Xpeditions and they will hold their IBO equivalent speed even as you go up in arrow weight
